Wednesday Featured Fashion: Garden Party

Name
: Kayla
College: Sixth
Year: 1st
Major: Sociology
Spotted At: Sixth College Res Halls

Outfit:
Light Purple Cardigan: Uniqlo
Floral Romper: Korea
Polka Dot Bow: Etsy
Black Combat Boots: store in Melrose
Glasses: Cotton On

Q: How would you describe your fashion?
A: I would describe my style as feminine and comfortable. I just wear whatever that comes to mind that day so I don't really have a style. I just wear a mixture of all types of trends and whatever suits my taste that day.
Q: What is your favorite piece you are wearing?
A: I really like my bow because I love the polka dot print right now and it made my outfit look really feminine.
Q: What's your favorite thing about spring?
A: My favorite thing about spring is that I can finally wear pretty floral dresses and mix it with other prints.

Kayla's outfit is a perfect transition from the cold, dreary weather of winter quarter to the warm, light breezes of spring quarter. She paired a floral romper, which perfectly emulates the season's aura, with combat boots to tone down the sometimes overdone floral prints. Kayla also has used the trend of mixing/matching prints, done so with her floral and polka dots, and has successfully matched them together without clashing.

Suggestion: Spring is the perfect time to bring out your soft-toned cardigans, as Kayla did, and pair it with floral prints. It is also a really big trend this season to mix/match various types of prints so don't be afraid to try out new styles!

She's like one of our own!

UCSD's Best Dressed: Orange County Edition
Discovered by: Bria, TREND Staff Writer

Happy Wednesday everyone!
My name is Bria and I am a recent addition to TREND's staff. I will be doing the Wednesday Best Dressed this quarter! I can't wait to share with you the best of the best!

Hopefully your winter break was fabulous and fashion-filled! Seeing as everyone (including myself) was home for the holidays for the past few weeks, I decided to do an Orange County edition of best dressed. Our neighbors to the north have almost as many fashionistas as we have down here! One lady that fits in perfectly with the best-dressed crowd in San Diego is 20 year old, Tatiana. Her blend of classic style with modern twists is oh-so-chic, and her neutral color pallet is perfect for this cold winter weather.

Black skinny jeans: Paige Premium Denim

Grey cardigan: Forever 21

Flowy white tank: Forever 21

Knee-high socks: H&M

Combat boots: Vintage, but you can find similar ones here

Cognac-colored satchel: Urban Outfitters

  • Name: Tatiana
  • Spotted at: The Irvine Spectrum
  • Occupation?: Full-time student at Orange Coast College
  • Tell me about your style: I love basics, a great sweater or pair of jeans, but then make them my own with accessories. I love funky accessories.
  • So who is your biggest style icon? Rachel Bilson. Hands down. I love her.
  • Any other inspirations? Well, my sister owns a vintage store in New York, so i get a lot of pieces from her. You can find tons of classic pieces but also really unique and interesting ones.*

X's and O's,
B.

*Her sister's store: The Greedy Seagull

THIS BLOG HAD TO HAPPEN...

This blog had to happen. There are millions of blogs online; millions about fashion, millions about art, and millions about millions of things.I still felt there was a lack. I wanted to tie it all together. This blog is aimed at the twentysomething woman. It will explore issues, interests and the likes for women our age. I want it to evolve into a discussion forum, a networking hub, and more importantly, a place to explore fashion and art from OUR perspective. I'm a twentysomething year old woman. I'm independent, well-traveled and have a deep passion for fashion and art. I'm a graduate student living far from home. I love (and miss!) my family, friends and boyfriend. I love my dog. I've been through hell and back, and I want to relate to you. So enough about me...  I will also remain anonymous (for now) for a variety of reasons.

Shopaholic!

Have you guys heard? The new Shopaholic series, "Mini Shopaholic", has been released since September 21, 2010! I know, I know. Many of you have probably seen the movie "Shopaholic", but trust me, the books are a squillion times better! I've already finished the book since its release date and might I add, it was HILARIOUS! Mini Shopaholic is the sixth book of the series. I'm really hoping for another following book soon. Do you ever walk across clothing shops and feel as if you were in LOVE? Does the smell of NEW clothing, leather, or candle scents make you feel warm and fizzy inside? And those Christian Louboutins you swear your life would end if you couldn't get your hands on them? Or perhaps nobody "understand" why your so in love with an item? If these questions ring a bell, I suggest you read this collection because there IS somebody more of a shopaholic than YOU ARE! Hehe. Have fun :)

cheers,
Adelaide
Xoxo (of course)

A Taste of Color

Autumn is coming soon. The leaves will begin to fall, flowers begin to disappear and clouds will cover the sky. So why not blog about Joseph Font? We will be craving some color either than gray soon enough.
